Who Am I

My name is Jesse. I claim Wyoming as my home state, no matter where I live. I have always loved theater: Broadway musicals, local productions, plays-turned-films, and yes – even little church skits. In particular, I love how a compelling story can impact people, and can reach those who don’t feel heard. My passion is creating flawed characters that audience members can relate to, and stories that show hope and love.

 

 

How I Write

I love history, so I go about writing biblical scripts by breaking open average and surface Sabbath School stories and enriching the characters and settings with culturally and historically dynamic information. I love to take stories from the Bible that aren’t as well-known and give a brand new voice.

I occasionally create scripts with co-authors, including my husband (pictured with me) and if I do, they will be noted on the scripts you can find on this website.

 

My Journey

I have played every part in a production you can think of: Writer, Director, Producer, Lead Actress, Supporting Actress, Tech, Costume Designer, Choreographer, Stage Manager, Lighting Director, and much more! I have written, produced, and directed regional passion plays and other productions – some having been performed for audiences of 1,000+ members. I have been a head writer and director for a local sketch comedy group. I have directed, produced, written, and acted in many high school productions, and I write evening programs for Christian summer camps/Vacation Bible School.
